ARSC Awards for Excellence in Historical Recorded Sound Research
Association of Recorded Sound Collections
Eligible publications include any original printed work (book, monograph, article, liner notes, etc.). The ARSC Awards typically recognize histories, discographies, or biographies representing the "Best Research" in these recording genres: Blues or Gospel Music; Classical Music; Country Music; Folk or Ethnic Music; Jazz; Popular Music; Rock, Rhythm & Blues, or Soul; and Spoken Word.

ASCAP-Deems Taylor Award
ASCAP
The ASCAP-Deems Taylor Award program recognizes books, articles, broadcasts and websites on the subject of music selected for their excellence.

Benjamin Franklin Awards
PMA, The Independent Book Publishers Association
The awards recognize excellence in all aspects of publishing—content, design, and innovative marketing. The categories are each judged by two or three industry professionals and the comments from these judges are returned to each participant at the end of the awards program.

Books for a Better Life
National Multiple Sclerosis Society

Caldecott Medal
American Library Association
The Caldecott Medal is awarded to the artist of the most distinguished American picture book for children.

IPPY Awards

These awards honor the year’s best independently published titles.

J. Anthony Lukas Prize Project
Columbia University • Graduate School of Journalism
Established in 1998, the Lukas Prize Project honors the best in American nonfiction writing. Co-administered by the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism and the Nieman Foundation at Harvard University, and sponsored by the family of the late Mark Lynton, a historian and senior executive at the firm Hunter Douglas in the Netherlands, three awards are given annually.

Lannan Literary Awards and Fellowships
Lannan honors both established and emerging writers whose work is of exceptional quality. The Awards recognize writers who have made significant contributions to English-language literature.

The Laura Ingalls Wilder Award
American Library Association
The award honors an author or illustrator whose books, published in the United States, have made over a period of years, a substantial and lasting contribution to literature for children.

One of the most prestigious book awards, achievements are recognized in four genres: fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and young people's literature.

Newbury Medal
American Library Association
The Newbury Medal is awarded to the author of the most distinguished contribution to American literature for children.

The Pura Belpre Award
American Library Association
The award is presented to a Latino/Latina writer and illustrator whose work best portrays, affirms, and celebrates the Latino cultural experience in an outstanding work of literature for children and youth.
