Certificate in Business-to-Business

The Summer Publishing Institute
in Book, Magazine, and Electronic Publishing
Past faculty have included Ellen Archer, VP/publisher of Hyperion; Tracy
Behar, Executive Editor of Little, Brown; and Leigh Haber, executive editor
of Rodale. This intensive course meets Monday – Friday 9:00am to 6:00pm
from June 4 – July 14, 2006. The tuition is about $4,800, plus room
and board
Columbia University
Graduate School
of Journalism
Columbia offers three publishing programs:
Master of Science
(full-time option takes one year and about 30 credits; part-time study is
also an option)
Master of Arts in Journalism
(one-year program with a minimum of 30 credits)
The
Columbia Publishing Course
Only 100 students are selected for Columbia’s
prestigious Publishing Course. It’s an intense immersion program that
consists of lectures, seminars, workshops, and guest speakers. Heavy hitters
teach the courses and oversee the workshops. Past guests have included Jane
Friedman, CEO of HarperCollins, Bob Gottlieb, editor for Alfred A. Knopf,
and author Gish Jen. This course meets from June 19 - July 28, 2006. The
tuition is about $4,200, plus room and board (approximately $2,500).
